Even though the power is out to 3/4 of Lassen County, including Bass Hill Landfill, the Landfill is OPEN today! We are running on generator so it may be a little slower than normal, please be patient! Also, it is very icy and muddy so make sure to wear your boots!!

Due to the pending forecast of dangerous weather, both the Herlong and Westwood Transfer Stations will remain CLOSED on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Both sites should be open again on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 9 am to 4 pm.

The windstorms that we’ve endured the last few days have really wreaked havoc on Landfill Operations. For the most current closures for Landfill and transfer stations, please call our main number at 530-252-1273 and press “2” at any time during the message to hear the “Weather Closure” message. This weather message gets changed when Bass Hill Landfill or one of the Transfer Stations closes early.
Also, Bass Hill Landfill is only closed on major holidays such as Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, etc. The Landfill is open on holidays such as Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, President’s Day, etc.
